24Builds: The Birth of a Passion that Never Sleeps
24builds wasn't born in a corporate boardroom or sketched out in a business plan. It began on a sleepless night in 2018, when our founder Ducky couldn't stop thinking about the Ferrari F40 he had seen earlier that day at a car show. As an automotive engineer by day and brick building enthusiast by night, he found himself at 3 AM, surrounded by scattered bricks, attempting to capture the soul of that legendary machine in miniature form.
By dawn, what stood before him wasn't just a model car – it was an engineering statement in brick form, with working suspension, detailed engine bay, and the unmistakable lines that made the F40 an icon. When colleagues at the automotive design studio where he worked marveled at the creation's accuracy, a simple question emerged: "Could you build one for me?"
From Midnight Oil to Racing Fuel
That first commissioned build led to another, then another. Michael's apartment slowly transformed from living space to workshop, with prototype models lining every available surface. The name "24builds" emerged naturally – representing both the around-the-clock dedication to perfection and paying homage to the legendary 24-hour races that test both machine and human endurance.
By 2021, what started as a midnight passion had evolved into a team of five like-minded individuals – all with backgrounds spanning automotive engineering, industrial design, and professional model building. United by the belief that building experiences should be as rewarding as the finished display, we established our first dedicated workshop in Sacramento.
